From CAPA - Creative and Performing Arts
The Creative and Performing Arts, including Music, Visual Arts, Drama, Design and Photography are crucial for a student's overall development. They encourage creativity, self-expression, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Creative arts provide a platform for social interaction, cultural awareness, and appreciation. They also have a positive impact on mental health, reducing stress and anxiety while improving overall well-being. Overall, creative arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education, providing students with a range of benefits beyond the classroom.
We have many exciting things happening at St Joseph's in CAPA at the moment. Students in Yr 10 Visual Design, Yr 12 Photography and Yr 11 and 12 Visual Arts have all attended engaging excursion days that have supported learning with stimulus material and real-world art experiences. School Musical 2023 " The Wizard of Oz" is well underway with twice weekly rehearsals and students making great gains in their singing and performance skills.
All CAPA students are being encouraged in their efforts and we are now looking forward to seeing the culmination of the many projects underway in the form of submitted works in all our subjects being resolved and shown to the school community. Keep up the great work everyone!
