Creative and Performing Arts - What's been happening

We are delighted to highlight the talent of our budding artists in Year 7 and 8 Visual Arts who have recently completed our first Unit in portrait painting. With a fusion of colour, form, and emotion, these talented individuals have transformed blank canvases into masterpieces, many capturing the essence and unique personalities of their subjects.

Their dedication and commitment to honing their craft has been evident in each stroke, as they breathed life into their paintings. Their ability to evoke emotions through their art has been truly awe-inspiring. We applaud these gifted students for their remarkable achievements and look forward to witnessing their continued artistic journey, as they respond to the world through their artmaking. Selected students will be awarded certificates at the end of the term.

SCHOOL MUSICAL:  The Wizard of Oz

We are thrilled with the talent and dedication demonstrated by our students in their preparation for the upcoming performance of the beloved classic, The Wizard of Oz. With months of rigorous rehearsals, the cast and crew are bringing the magical Land of Oz to life on the Roo Theatre, Shellharbour stage in Week 10. From the vocals to the choreography, every aspect of the production will be a testament to their hard work and passion. The students' commitment to their roles, both on and off stage, is truly commendable, and we look forward to their exceptional performances.

We extend our appreciation to the talented students, dedicated teachers, and supportive families who are making this theatrical journey an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Year 9 Visual Arts

Students have just finished their Unit 1 works encompassing designed, painted imagery for Skateboard decks.  These were inspired by the work of MULGA the Artist, a Sutherland Shire designer and artist whose work generally reflects quirky and unusual versions of people or Australian animals and has a strong appeal in street, skate and surf artforms.

Last Friday, students attended an excursion to the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society’s Museum for the purpose of observation, drawing and photography of the mechanical and aerodynnamic forms.

Students are now taking their imagery into a design phase in preparation for the development of Lino Printing work into next term. We are looking forward to seeing their exciting compositions and printed works as they are resolved.

Year 12 Drama

Year 12 Drama recently attended an excursion to the disused Wynard Tunnels where as a part of Vivid Sydney. A wonderful Multidisciplinary immersive light experience was witnessed by the students.

The Wynyard Tunnels Vivid experience electrified our attendees with stunning light installations transporting them into a mesmerizing world of vibrant colors and captivating narratives.
