State Emergency Service Visit
On Friday, August 18th, I had the privilege of supervising six of our esteemed Year 10 students as they visited the SES operational centre in Albion Park.
They admirably represented our school by engaging in a variety of activities that offered them a glimpse into the life of a State Emergency Service volunteer. These activities encompassed tasks such as sandbagging, participating in rescue operations by throwing rescue bags, receiving a comprehensive tour of the SES equipment and information systems, and receiving basic training in CPR and emergency response. Despite the adverse weather conditions, our students displayed remarkable resilience and acquired valuable knowledge and skills.
It's worth noting that our local SES is actively seeking volunteers, and our Catholic Schools have been extended an invitation to participate in an internship program held every Tuesday afternoon.
