Term 3, Week 10

Term 3 has finished very positively. The obvious highlight was the way Year 12 finished their official schooling starting with their participation in HSC Intensive Sessions during week 9. On Tuesday, the students let their hair down on their picnic day to Jamberoo and on Wednesday we said our official goodbye as a school community with their Graduation Liturgy/Presentation and Final Assembly. It was great to have so many family and friends join us for this occasion and was such a fitting way to recognise the hard work and contribution the Class of 2023 have made to St Joseph’s.

As my time as Acting Assistant Principal comes to an end, I would like to thank the students, parents/carers and staff for the support provided during Term 3. Mr Shelton will commence as Assistant Principal in Term 4. I wish him well as he begins his new role at St Joseph's.

Uniforms

A reminder that students will return to school in summer uniform after the holidays. There has been a noticeable decline in uniform standards in recent weeks and students were reminded of this at our school assembly this week. Particular areas of concern include:

• Wearing sport uniform on non PE/CASA days
• Incorrect footwear with PE uniform (ie cons/skate shoes and no socks)
• Hair not tied back
• Multiple large earrings and facial piercings

The uniform expectations are clearly outlined in the school diary and all students and parents/carers agree to support the schools uniform requirements upon enrollment at St Joseph’s. We are asking all students and families to take time over the break to ensure that students are prepared to meet these expectations at the start of Term 4 so that teachers can spend their time focussed on teaching and supporting student learning. If there are any temporary issues with meeting the uniform requirements please place a note in the students diary outlining the issue and when it should be rectified by.
