HSC SHOWCASE NOMINATIONS
We would like to extend our congratulations to Isabelle Plattner and Isabelle Dimitrievski for their nominations for NESA Creative Arts HSC showcases this year.
Isabelle Plattner has been nominated for OnSTAGE, a showcase of high-achieving HSC Drama performances held each year at the Seymour Centre in Sydney. Her dramatic monologue from the play "A Woman Alone" is an emotional and frantic account of a woman's frustration at her declining domestic situation. Isabelle's moving performance demonstrated her excellent skill in character development, voice and engaging an audience on an emotional level.

Isabelle Dimitrievski's nomination for ARTEXPRESS was achieved for her Visual Arts Body of Work titled "Everything You Can't See" was created with Micron pen, embroidery, and hand-knotted net. Her artist statement: Inspired by the concept of 'Sonder,' a term coined by poet John Koenig, my work delves into the realisation that each living being possesses a rich and intricate life. It unveils the larger tapestry of connections that frequently elude our self-awareness. Embroidered lighted windows symbolise the presence of people and life. Lighted windows serve as portals into a world distinct from our own, a world we can only sense without truly comprehending. Nets extend from the intimate and secluded spaces, physically embodying the often-invisible interwoven networks of society. The knots represent relationships, fleeting intersections, and significant moments in time.
This is a great achievement for both Isabelles who have also done their Drama and Visual Arts subjects for the HSC as Pathways students, a year ahead of their age cohort. Well done!
Selections will be announced on 15 December 2023, so we wish both girls good luck in this selection process and look forward to their HSC results in each subject.
