From the Curriculum Office
Happy Holidays
Term 3 is always the busiest of the year. Between exams for Years 11 and 12 as well as reports, subject selection for Years 8 and 9 and all the usual school activities that take place the Curriculum Office has been very busy. We would like to take the time to thank the teachers and students on the hard work and diligence shown this term and wish everyone a well deserved and restful break. We look forward to seeing everyone at the start of Term 4 as we begin the process of wrapping up a busy but productive year of learning across the school.
Year 12
Congratulations to Year 12 who this week formally concluded their 13 years of school based education. It was great to be able to take the time to recognise the efforts of so many students who have excelled in their subjects however it must be noted that all students should be congratulated on the sustained effort required to get to the end of Year 12. We wish them well in their exam preparations over the coming weeks and are confident that they will do well in their final exams.
Student Success - in recent weeks we have received notification that a number of students in our Year 12 Drama, Visual Art and Industrial Technology - Furniture classes have received official nominations for Onstage/SHAPE which is a statewide showcase of the best HSC practical projects in those subjects. Congratulations to the students involved as well as their teachers who guided them through the journey. Fingers crossed some of these students make the final cut which will be made later this year.
Year 11
Year 11 have now completed their end of year exams. This finalises the Year 11 component of their Stage 6 study with students beginning their HSC courses at the start of Term 4. In most cases students will be able to drop one subject from their pattern of study for Year 12 - the process for this will be outlined early next term.
Stage 5 Electives
Students in Years 8 and 9 received their elective choices for 2026 last week. Just a reminder that parents are required to sign the confirmation sheet and return to the Curriculum Office last week. We will endeavour to correct any errors/change requests for student electives early in Term 4.
