Sustainability Workshop at Edmund Rice College

In Week 7, a group of our students had the opportunity to attend an annual Sustainability Workshop hosted at Edmund Rice College. The event featured guest speaker Dr James Dorey, who shared his expertise on native bees and the importance of pollinators in our environment. Students also heard from Sarah of Popes Produce, who spoke about practical ways to support sustainable food production in the community.

The hands-on sessions were a highlight, with students creating bee hotels to encourage native bee populations and designing sculptures from clay and natural materials. The workshop was both educational and inspiring, giving our students new insights into how they can contribute to environmental sustainability.

Upon our return, we found a lovely spot for our Bee/Insect Hotel. Thank you to all of our students who actively participated in this educational experience.
