Our TAS block refurbishment opening yesterday was a wonderful celebration. Mr Peter Turner - Director of Schools, Mr John Lo Cascio  - Head of School Improvement Services Secondary , Mrs Lisa Burton - Executive Assistant, Mr Bede Ritchie - Head of Finance Facilities and Planning, Mr Graham Betts and Ms Renee McGuigann (Architects), Mr Grant Deane (Builder), Ms Anna Watson - MP for Shellharbour and Fr Leo - Albion Park Parish Priest all attended for the blessing and opening.

Our senior students showed off the TAS block and their interactions with our visitors was outstanding. They were articulate and proud of the learning space. It was a truly joyful morning. Thank you to the TAS staff for all their patience during construction. This facility is now state of the art and will work well into the future. Please enjoy the photos from the opening.

Excellent facilities are important for student learning but what is really important is the students who are in the room and the type of people they are.  I am very proud of the ‘character’ of our students.  Everyday they demonstrate respect for self and others and those who don’t are being challenged and change is occurring. St Joseph was a carpenter, he was a builder, he trusted in God’s call to support Jesus and Mary. Even though he has no recorded words in the Gospels his actions speak loudly. I hope our students take on the model of St Joseph where there actions speak louder than their words as they demonstrate respect in the world around them.

Congratulations to our Year 9 students for their behaviour on Camp. It was excellent. Thank you to the staff who made this event possible. (I actually had a giggle at after being so concerned over the possibility of fires in the areas - they had rain, hail and lightning!!! - isn't that always the way).

The new venue appeared to receive a positive response from students and staff and we will rebook the same venue for next year.
