Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander News
Dear Parents and Students,
We have put the final touches to the NAIDOC book with your children and have sent these out for publishing. We can’t wait until they are here.
Our NAIDOC liturgy was amazing. The children were fantastic ambassadors for their Aboriginal heritage. They performed their dances, or participated by reading bible verses and prayers. We also had non-Aboriginal students involved in the dancing, which is amazing.
Thank you to Toumanda for organising the liturgy, including the filming and editing.
Our welcome poles have been concreted into the ground with a river bed of pebbles connecting each pole and Uncle Kevin is busily finishing these off each Friday.
Our Indigenous garden is taking shape, and many Indigenous plants and natives from the Illawarra region have recently been purchased. These will be planted in the garden behind the welcome poles. We have edible and medicinal plants.
Thank you.
