Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome back to Term 2!  I hope all our school community enjoyed a restful break.  

This term, I would like to start the formation of a Consultation Group.  I am seeking an expression of interest from parents and carers, who work outside of education, to be a part of this project.

It is imagined that there will be a maximum of eight parents/carers as part of the group who come from a variety of backgrounds and industries that can offer a different perspective on ideas before implementation that affect the School environment and students’ learning. 

Schooling has significant limitations and regulations but preparing the students for the way of working in today's society within a very traditional structure has challenges. I believe that consulting widely and gathering ideas from different perspectives enables Joey’s to offer the best education and opportunities for students. 

Some agenda items would include -

• Where to spend money next 
• Purpose and cost of camps for parents - is it value for money?
• Ideas on advertising
• Elective offerings to students
• Enrichment opportunities provided for students 
• Ways of developing a culture of doing your best rather than complacency, without creating stress for parents and students. 
• Evaluation of the opportunities such as SRC program, Ignite and Aspiring Athlete Programs.

From the parent consultation, opinions and information would then be taken to the School Executive for final decision making. 

Time Commitment
One Zoom meeting per term in the evening at 7 pm for an hour with an agenda and material sent out one week before. Occasional emails sent out for comment on initiatives that arise between times. Each year the consultation group would be reviewed
