Environment club update November 2022
On Wednesday 2 November, some wonderful members of the Environment Club helped to sort through all the blue Vinnies bins so that the 10c containers could be collected and donated to St Vincent De Paul. We collected thousands of bottles which will deliver much-needed funds to St Vincent De Paul. It was a huge job as many of the bins had filled up with water in the rain, but the dedicated students persevered. The bins will now be cleaned and sealed from the rain so that they can remain clean for future container deposits.
The students also delivered yellow recycling bins to (almost) all classrooms so that mixed recycling can again be collected from classrooms and kept out of the landfill. These bins will be sorted and emptied weekly by students in homerooms.
Thank you to the following wonderful students for their commitment to sustainability and reducing the impact St Joseph’s has on the environment:
Miah Williams, Samuel Morris, Lara Grimson, Isabelle Plattner, Bailey Brennan
