Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome back to the ever changing face of Term 4. We are well prepared and ready for students to return, Year 12 on 18 October and then everyone from 25 October.
This week we have conducted our ventilation check and our classrooms and Covid-Safety Plan to ensure a safe return to school are ready to go.
Teachers are working on teaching and learning programs including elements of wellbeing and skills for students to engage back into the classroom environment. There will be a significant literacy focus for the term with increased use of SCRIBO and Literacy Planet for the juniors and even an old fashioned spelling bee! - this will bring memories back for parents!
Our Year 10 subject selections are being finalised and we are planning our orientation for the new Year 7 2022 - this is still waiting for confirmation of what is or isn’t allowed under the health orders.
At a system level guidelines are being created for what happens in schools if a positive case is detected under the new 70% and 80% vaccination levels. These will be published as soon as they are available.
The change of return dates has created a problem for some families with their levels of vaccination. I have already had contact from families whose young people will be returning only after they have received their second dose. Please note this is not a mandatory requirement of the school for returning children however some families are taking a cautious approach. School work for these students will be uploaded to their google classroom but it will not be the same as the learning bundles that you are currently experiencing.
Mask wearing by students
All students are expected to wear masks unless eating or exercising. Masks will be available for purchase $1 at the canteen/ front office for students who lose them but students are required to have them on the bus, morning and afternoon so it really should not be an issue.
I pray that all our families stay safe and well, and look forward to reconnecting in person when school returns.
Ms Amanda Wilson
Principal

PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES BY INSTALMENT – NEW FAMILIES TO OUR SCHOOL
School Fees are invoiced as an annual account, due for payment in full 30 days after invoicing. However, many families elect to pay their school fees by regular instalments and as a new family to our school, we would like to offer you this option. If wish to take up this offer, please complete a Request to Pay by Instalment Form which is available on the school’s website or from the school’s administration office. On completion of the request either email it to instalments@dow.catholic.edu.au or submit at the school office. Following receipt of the request, instalments will be generated on your school fee account during the process of invoicing 2022 school fees. Your school fee statements will be emailed to you and they will provide a list of scheduled payments and their due date depending on the frequency you have chosen eg Fortnightly, Monthly, etc.
IMPORTANT: Please note that if you currently have a child or children at another school in the Diocese and you are paying by instalments at this location, you will not need to complete another Request to Pay by Instalment. The instalment request carries over from school to school with the same frequency of payment eg Weekly, fortnightly, etc.
OPTION OF PAYING SCHOOL FEES BY INSTALMENT
During last year our school migrated to a new accounting program. This system provides the opportunity to generate regular instalments with due dates, rather than having an annual bill which is due for payment, in full, 30 days after invoicing. If you would like to pay school fees by instalments in 2022, please complete a Request to Pay by Instalment Form which is available on the school’s website or from the school’s administration office. On completion of the request either email it to instalments@dow.catholic.edu.au or submit at the school office. Following receipt of the request, instalments will be generated on your school fee account during the process of invoicing 2022 school fees. Your school fee statement will provide a list of scheduled payments and their due date depending on the frequency you have chosen eg Fortnightly, Monthly, etc.
