From the Principal and Assistant Principal
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
This week, we welcomed our Year 12 students back to school. It was wonderful to see them all happy and enjoying each other’s company back at school again - albeit for just a short time before the HSC commences on Tuesday, 9 November.
Taking into consideration the valuable feedback and insights obtained from parents and students towards the end of last term via the online survey, our teachers have discerned and planned excellent learning and wellbeing experiences for Years 7-11 students to enjoy when face to face learning resumes on Monday, 25 October.
A variety of information has been included in this newsletter regarding the arrangements that will be in place when all students return on Monday.
As always, the safety and wellbeing of all members of our school community is of paramount importance to us at this time. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We ask the school community to continue to keep Year 12 in your prayers, as they complete their final preparations for their upcoming HSC exams.
Please feel free to contact the school if you have any queries or concerns.
Have a restful and relaxing weekend!
Ms Amanda Wilson Mrs Jenny Bell
Principal Assistant Principal
Level 3 and Level 3 Plus Restrictions
From Monday 25 October 2021, all students are required to attend school.
Under the current guidelines, we will be following the Level 3 AND Level 3 Plus restrictions.
COVID-safe operations will be maintained through high rates of vaccination, physical distancing, and minimised contact between students and staff.
What if staff and students are unwell?
Students and staff must not attend school or work if they are unwell, even with mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms will be sent home and may not return to school unless:
- they have a negative COVID-19 test result and are symptom free; or
- they have completed isolation according to NSW Public Health advice, when no medical certificate is available.
Activities in Year Groups
While we are under Level 3 Plus restrictions, we will be restricting activities to student Year groups. As far as possible, students will learn and engage in activities only with those in their Year group, including during breaks.
We have considered, where practical, physical distancing and limiting interactions between groups at entry and exit points, transitioning between classes, and during recess and lunch breaks to reduce contact between student cohorts and staff.
Masks and face coverings
As mandated by NSW Health, all students and staff are required to wear a mask while at school when in indoor settings. Students and staff may also prefer to wear a mask when outdoors.
Masks are mandatory on public transport. This applies to students aged 13 years and over, and staff when travelling to and from school by public transport or by chartered or private transport services.
It is also mandatory for all staff and students to carry a mask with them at all times – in playgrounds and on school grounds.
It is the expectation that students will bring their own masks to school to wear during the day. Masks are available to purchase from the school canteen for $1.00.
Years 7-11 students return on Monday 25 October
Parents are asked to support their children to prepare themselves so that they are fully equipped and ready to learn well when they return to classroom learning. This includes getting all items of summer uniform ready over the weekend and packing their bags with books, a fully charged laptop/iPad, a calculator and other stationery needed to successfully engage in learning. Where possible, a range of practical learning activities will be included with students having expressed their keenness for these types of opportunities which they have missed during remote learning.
Getting students back into school routines
At the start of the day on Monday 25 October, Years 7-11 students will be in their normal Homeroom classrooms for roll call. PALS will then deliver assemblies via Zoom for Stages 4 and 5, and Year 11. Years 7-11 will then participate in wellbeing activities led by their Homeroom Teachers.
For the remainder of Week 4, Years 7-11 students will have extended Homeroom until 9:55am each day to facilitate their participation in some structured wellbeing support time. The purpose of this time is to support students to reconnect and make the necessary adjustments as they transition back into learning in the School setting.
Arrangements for Year 12 Home Room Next Week

Shared spaces, such as the library, and other communal areas, may only be used by one cohort at a time, with adherence to strict personal hygiene protocols and physical distancing requirements.
Before school and at recess and at lunchtime, the Library will only be used by Year 12 students until Year 12 students leave to sit their HSC Examinations.
COVID Safe Practices / Cleaning
Personal hygiene and physical distancing of students
- Within each cohort, students are to maintain strict personal hygiene and maximise physical distancing.
- Students are reminded to wash their hands thoroughly or hand sanitise frequently throughout the day.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Maintain respiratory hygiene. Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow or a tissue, and then dispose of tissues into a bin immediately. Always wash your hands after you have coughed, sneezed or blown your nose.
Cleaning of desks and hand sanitising
The regime of hand sanitising and desk cleaning will continue at the start of all lessons in classrooms.
Enhanced cleaning by our cleaners is a part of the daily cleaning of the school. Target areas include high-touch areas and other hard surfaces, door handles, lockers, light switches and handrails in stairways and movement areas.
